About us
The National Restoration Party
RESTORE • REBUILD • RENEW - a party built to make local government work for the people who pay for it.
Why the NRP exists
Across South Africa, residents pay rates for services that arrive late or never arrive at all. Taps run dry, streetlights stay dark, potholes swallow local economies and young people leave their communities to look for work elsewhere.
The National Restoration Party was formed by community leaders, professionals and activists who refused to accept that broken municipalities are normal. We organise ward by ward, record what residents report, and hold public representatives to the commitments they make.
Our name states our purpose plainly: restore what has been neglected, rebuild what has collapsed, and renew the trust between residents and the institutions meant to serve them.
Our vision
A South Africa where every municipality delivers water, electricity, roads and dignity to the people who fund them, and where public office is treated as a public trust.
Our mission
To restore accountable local government, rebuild the infrastructure and institutions that communities depend on, and renew public confidence through measurable service delivery.
Our approach
We build from the ward upward. Our manifesto was written from residents' complaints and our candidates are accountable to the communities that nominate them.
Our commitment
Open books, open tenders and open decision making. Residents must be able to check whether we did what we promised.
Our values
Ten commitments that every NRP member, candidate and public representative is held to.
Accountability
Leaders who answer to the communities that elected them.
Transparency
Open books, open tenders, open decision making.
Service Delivery
Water, electricity, roads and waste that actually work.
Integrity
Public office is a public trust, never a private opportunity.
Equality of Opportunity
Fair access to work, training and municipal support.
Community Development
Development planned with residents, not for them.
Economic Empowerment
Township, rural and small business economies first.
Justice
Equal protection and equal treatment before the law.
Constitutional Democracy
Loyal to the Constitution and the rule of law.
Responsible Leadership
Discipline, humility and measurable performance.
