Why local government matters
Municipalities deliver water, electricity, roads, refuse removal, storm-water drainage and public spaces. Local government is the sphere of government closest to daily life.
Why your vote matters
Ward councillors are elected by a few thousand votes. A single ward can change hands on turnout alone, which makes every registered voter decisive.

Ward-by-ward door-to-door engagement, community meetings, manifesto roadshows and a volunteer network built from residents in every municipality we contest.
Voter information
Check your registration details and voting district with the Electoral Commission of South Africa, and confirm your voting station before voting day.
Voting day information
- Voting takes place on 4 November 2026.
- Bring your green barcoded ID book, smart ID card or valid temporary ID.
- Vote at the voting station in the ward where you are registered.
- Local elections use separate ballots for ward and proportional representation.
- Assistance is available at every station for elderly voters and voters with disabilities.
- Report any irregularity to the presiding officer and to NRP ward agents.
